If you're wondering about the name of my blog, it's kind of a mashup of a couple different things.
First - I laugh a lot, usually at ironic things. My laughter is loud, unabashed (and has, unkindly, been compared to that of a horse or mule) and often has the benefit of the most inappropriate timing you could wish for. My commentary is blunt, tends toward the ironic/sarcastic end of the spectrum and shares the same timing synapses as my laughter.
Second - I'm interested in astrology as a hobby. I was born in December, a Sagittarius, the constellation in honor of the leader of the centaurs (half man, half horse) Chiron. Chiron is known in astrology as "the wounded healer", skilled at many things - medicine, art, strategy, battle, etc. I like to think I have more than a few skills of my own and a few things to offer the world. I like to learn new things and I understand how messed up the world is and how we all have to help each other in order to survive and grow.
My first name starts with K, so I just spelled Chiron(ic) with a K and the rest is something of a play on words explained by the quote at the top of the page. I blog under a pseudonym (or two), but I am not trying to be anonymous. I have used my real name online previously so it's not that big a deal (if psychos come out of the woodwork we'll reevaluate).
As for me, I describe myself as a social commentator, political activist/analyst, former radio show co-host, sometime comedian and amateur astrologer. My family and friends have been telling me for years that I'm good at explaining stuff to people, have a lot of info (and opinions) to share and I should find a way to do my thing for a wider audience - so here I go.
